Internship Programme

Live files, a named supervisor, and honest feedback.

For law students and fresh graduates who want real chambers experience across litigation, drafting and advisory work.

Internship Programme

Legal Lions Attorney & Solic (OPC) Pvt. Ltd. takes on a small number of interns at a time, because an internship is only worth doing if someone senior actually has time to teach. You will be attached to a named advocate, you will work on live files, and you will be corrected — often.

This is not a photocopying internship. Interns here research points that go into real pleadings, sit in on hearings, and take notes that the arguing counsel reads afterwards. That also means the standard expected of you is a professional one, not a student one.

If you want to understand how a matter actually moves from a first consultation to a final order, this is the right place. If you are looking only for a certificate, it is not.

What you will actually work on

Legal research

Finding, reading and summarising case law on the specific point in issue - not a general topic dump.

Drafting

Assisting with plaints, written statements, bail applications, legal notices, replies and applications under supervision.

Court accompaniment

Attending hearings with your supervising advocate, tracking what the court actually said, and reporting it back accurately.

Case file management

Indexing documents, preparing briefs and paper books, and keeping a file in the order a court expects.

Client meeting observation

Sitting in on consultations where the client consents, and learning how advice is actually delivered.

Judgment analysis

Preparing case briefs and short notes on recent judgments relevant to the firm practice areas.

Compliance & documentation

Assisting on statutory filings, agreements and compliance checklists on the advisory side.

Legal writing

Contributing research notes and drafts for the firm insights, with your work reviewed line by line.

What we look for, and what we expect

Read both lists before you apply. Interns who do well here treat it as a job, not a college activity.

1

What we look for in an intern

  • Currently pursuing a 3-year or 5-year law degree, or a recent graduate
  • A working grasp of CPC, CrPC and the Evidence Act
  • Ability to read a file and summarise it in plain language
  • Careful, proof-read drafting - we notice typos
  • Discretion: everything seen in chambers is confidential
  • Willingness to be corrected without taking it personally
2

What we expect during the internship

  • Punctuality - court timings do not move for anyone
  • A daily diary of the work you did and what you learned
  • Cite your sources; never present law you have not read
  • Ask when you are unsure instead of guessing
  • No discussion of any matter outside the office, including on social media
  • Formal court-appropriate dress on hearing days

How to apply

A short, straightforward process - and you will hear back either way.

1. Send your application

Email your CV, a short covering note on why this firm, and the dates you are available to info@legallions.in.

2. Screening

We look at your academic record, any prior internships, and above all how clearly you write.

3. Short interview

A conversation about your interests and a couple of basic questions on procedure. We are testing thinking, not memory.

4. Written confirmation

Your dates, reporting time, supervising advocate and terms are confirmed to you in writing before you join.

5. Day one

Carry your college letter and photo ID. You will sign a confidentiality undertaking before you touch a file.

What we do not do

We do not charge any fee for an internship, and we never ask an applicant for money. If anyone approaches you claiming otherwise in our name, treat it as fraudulent and write to us directly.

What you take away

More than a certificate

By the end of your internship you should be able to open an unfamiliar file and know what to do with it.

  • Hands-on work on live matters, not filing and photocopying
  • Written feedback on your research and drafting
  • A certificate of internship on satisfactory completion
  • Court exposure alongside your supervising advocate
  • A reference you can rely on, if your work earns it

Internship FAQs

Who can apply?

Students currently enrolled in a 3-year or 5-year law programme, and recent law graduates. Students from outside Delhi are welcome to apply, but you will need to arrange your own accommodation and travel.

How long is the internship?

Tell us the dates you are available in your application. We confirm the exact duration in writing before you join, based on your availability and the work in hand.

Is there a stipend? Do you charge a fee?

We never charge a fee for an internship, and we will never ask you for money. Whether a stipend is payable for your particular internship is confirmed in your internship letter before you join - please do not assume either way.

Will I get a certificate?

Yes, on satisfactory completion. It records the period you interned and the areas you worked on. We do not issue certificates for internships that were not actually completed.

Can I intern remotely?

Research and drafting can partly be done remotely, but court accompaniment and client observation cannot. Mention what you are looking for in your application and we will tell you honestly what is possible for your dates.

What should I bring on the first day?

Photo identification, your college letter or NOC where your institution requires one, and a notebook. You will sign a confidentiality undertaking before being given access to any file.

How soon will I hear back?

We reply to every application, including the ones we cannot accommodate. If you have not heard from us within a reasonable time, write again - applications occasionally get missed, and a follow-up is not a nuisance.

Ready to apply?

Email your CV, a short covering note and your available dates to info@legallions.in - or use the contact form and we will come back to you.
